North Hempstead Pools Attract Record Attendance

North Hempstead, NY– Supervisor Jon Kaiman, the North Hempstead Town Board in coordination with the Department of Parks and Recreation announced that 2012 memberships at the Town’s two newly-renovated pool facilities have climbed to all an all time high.

“Properly investing in our recreational facilities results in a better experience, more participants, and additional revenue,” Supervisor Kaiman said.

Manorhaven Pool, which features a 25,000 square foot main pool area and 12,000 square foot bathhouse complex with event space and food service, opened June last year. When it closed for renovation between the 2010 and 2011 season, the Port Washington pool complex had 1,278 members. When it reopened, it registered 4,443 memberships for the 2011 season and a record 4,790 so far for the 2012 season—a 275% increase in memberships since the remodeling effort.

Prior to remodeling Tully Pool in New Hyde Park sold 1, 394 memberships in 2007. In 2011, memberships soared to a record 2,793. And in 2012, a new record was set with 2,844 memberships issued. This represents a 104% increase memberships issued since the remodeling effort

All statistics were compiled by the Parks and Recreation Department utilizing RecTrac management and reporting software.
