North Hempstead Announces Seventh Annual FamilyFest Celebration

Event to Kick Off at North Hempstead Beach Park on Sunday, September 18

North Hempstead, NY—Supervisor Jon Kaiman and the North Hempstead Town Board announced today that the Town will host the seventh annual FamilyFest celebration on Sunday, September 18 from 12:00pm – 5:30pm at North Hempstead Beach Park.

“As the summer season comes to an end, I urge residents to spend a fun-filled day at one of North Hempstead’s pristine Town beaches,” said Supervisor Kaiman. “In its seventh year, FamilyFest offers the opportunity for families to enjoy a day at the beach, listen to some great music and participate in all of the end of summer activities that we have to offer.”

FamilyFest offers fun-filled family activities including kayaking, wildlife presentations, sandcastle building, arts and crafts, kite flying, circle drumming, food, giveaways and much more.

Familyfest offers great musical entertainment by five featured groups. The headline group, That 70’s Band, will wow the crowd with classic 70’s hits; Desert Highway will show why they are the best Eagles tribute band on the East Coast; while Ants Marching will have everyone dancing to their amazing tribute to the Dave Matthews Band. Last, but certainly not least, Fritzlyn Hector of Stomp will present RHYTHMOOVERS while Denzel Botus will rock you with infectious reggae.

FamilyFest 2011 is brought to you by the Town of North Hempstead in partnership with the Town’s Business and Tourism Development Corp., the Department of Parks and Recreation, and a host of generous corporate sponsors.
