Sagamore Ballfield In Williston Park To Get Facelift

Williston Park, NY—
Keeping with their commitment to maintain a premier network of North Hempstead Town parks, Supervisor Jon Kaiman and Councilman Tom Dwyer announced today that Sagamore Baseball Field in Williston Park is currently undergoing a complete face lift which includes the installation of a high quality synthetic turf infield.

Supervisor Kaiman commented, “What once used to be a dirt infield will now resemble more of a baseball field you would find at a University.”

The project includes the installation of synthetic turf throughout the infield, which boasts a number of benefits, including: Increased playing time and safety; environmental advantages including saving thousands of gallons of water; attractive landscaping and lower cost of maintenance.

“This project has truly been a team effort and we are happy the community has been very supportive of this project,” said Councilman Tom Dwyer. “We hope to have the field completed in the fall, if not sooner.”

The LandTek Group, Inc, which has over 30 years of field construction knowledge, is the contractor for the project.
