Town of North Hempstead's Project Independence To Host Asset Protection Presentation

Port Washington, NY—
Supervisor Jon Kaiman and the North Hempstead Town Board announce that Project Independence, the town’s “aging in place” program for residents 60 and older, will host the first of an ongoing series of “Health Chats” on protecting your assets.

The July 28 presentation, dubbed “How to Protect Your Assets”, will start at 11:00 a.m. and take place at the Port Washington Community Center on Manorhaven Blvd.

Ann Margaret Carrozza, an elder law specialist and former New York State Assemblywoman, will lead the presentation.

Ms. Carrozza will discuss Medicaid eligibility, wills and trusts, powers of attorney and health care proxies, among other important issues for your financial future. Following her talk, she will be on hand to answer individual questions.

Project Independence, North Hempstead’s own groundbreaking initiative developed by Supervisor Kaiman, is designed to assist, support and ultimately provide an array of services to the Town’s older residents so that they can remain in their own homes and communities as they age.
