Berman: Second-Half General Taxes Due

Charles Berman, North Hempstead Receiver of Taxes, reminds taxpayers that the second-half 2011 General Tax is now due and is payable without penalty through August 10, 2011.

Any property owner who does not have a second-half General Tax payment stub should call “311” to request a duplicate.

Mailed payments must be postmarked by the U.S. Postal Service on or before August 10 avoid penalty. Taxes may be paid in person at the Receiver of Taxes Office at 200 Plandome Road, Manhasset. The office is open Monday through Friday from 9 am to 4:45 pm. The office will remain open until 7 pm on August 10 for the convenience of taxpayers.

Taxes may also be paid online at the Receiver of Taxes’ webpage. For further information on this payment option, taxpayers should visit: www.northhempsteadny.gov/taxes.

Charles Berman urges taxpayers to enroll in the e-mail payment reminder service. To sign up, please visit the Town’s website and click on the “Sign Up for E-News” section. Residents may also contact the Town’s “311” call center for additional information.
