TONH’s Business & Tourism Development Corp. to Host Seminar on Cutting Business Expenses

North Hempstead, NY—With North Hempstead’s award-winning recycling program garnering region-wide attention, Supervisor Jon Kaiman and the Town Board announce an upcoming seminar designed to inform businesses on how to reduce, reuse and recycle as a means of lowering their operating expenses.

Hosted by North Hempstead’s Business and Tourism Development Corp., the free presentation, “Recycling & Energy Efficiencies; What You Can Do to Lower Your Business’s Energy Costs,” is scheduled for March 1 in the Club House at Harbor Links Golf Course in Port Washington. The two-hour seminar kicks off at 8 am.

“As well as encouraging students in our schools to become stewards of our environment, the Town is actively promoting the idea that the business community can dramatically reduce expenses by recycling and initiating energy efficiency measures in their every-day operations,” Supervisor Kaiman said.

A free continental breakfast will be served as attendees feed on timely advice about lowering their solid waste removal costs and becoming profitable participants in today’s green movement.

Attendees will also learn how they can save big bucks through discount and commercial efficiency programs offered by the three regional utilities, National Grid, Long Island Power Authority and the New York Power Authority.

The panel of presenters includes Domenic R. Abbatiello, Dir. Of Economic Development and Investment at Customer Energy Solutions Metro NY National Grid in Hicksville, NY; John Franceschina, Dir. Of Commercial Programs, Long Island Power Authority, Uniondale, NY; Tony Savino, Manager of Business Development at the New York Power Authority, White Plains, NY; and Frances B. Reid, Dir. of Environmental Planning in the Town of North Hempstead.
