Town to Hold 4th Annual Seminar on Safety Tips for Winter Weather

(Manhasset, NY) – North Hempstead Town Supervisor and Councilman Thomas Dwyer announced today that the Town would be sponsoring its Fourth Annual “Getting Ready For Jack Frost Seminar” at the Herricks Community Center on Wednesday, October 24, 2007 beginning at 11 AM, At the seminar, speakers from emergency service providers, utilities medical institutions and other organizations will detail recommendations about what homeowners can do to protect themselves and their homes this winter.

“Attending the Getting Ready For Jack Frost Seminar is time well spent in preparing for potential nasty winter weather,” Supervisor Kaiman said. “Often, by making simple adjustments to your home, you can save significant money on your heating bill and, more importantly, ensure a safer home.”

Councilman Dwyer, who hosts this annual seminar said: “Residents who have attended this seminar in the past have come away with valuable information on how to get through the upcoming cold winter months safer and healthier, with- out having to keep reaching deeper into their pockets. The Town is more than happy to provide this service to its residents, and I hope residents who have yet to attend this free information session will do so this year.”
