North Hempstead Lifts PW Street Meter Parking Restrictions for Holiday Season

Program is designed to get more homes and businesses to install solar and lower energy costs


North Hempstead, NY – North Hempstead Town Supervisor Judi Bosworth, Council Member Dina De Giorgio and the Town Board recently unanimously approved a resolution to suspend parking fees for shoppers in Port Washington this holiday season. This initiative is being co-sponsored by the Port Washington Chamber of Commerce.

The meters will be suspended on Small Business Saturday, Saturday, November 25, 2017 and from Monday, December 11, 2017 to Tuesday, December 26, 2017. Motorists must still comply with the posted time limitations. Metered parking will be suspended on the following Port Washington roads:

• Port Washington Boulevard
• Main Street
• Irma Avenue
• S. Maryland Avenue
• Carlton Avenue


Small Business Saturday, November 25, is part of a national effort to drive consumers to shop at local independently owned businesses on the Saturday after Thanksgiving.
