North Hempstead to Honor Creative Young Environmentalists at Recycled Art Contest Reception

North Hempstead, NY – The Town of North Hempstead is holding a reception for all the participants of the 8th Annual Recycled Art contest. Designed to spread the powerful message to “Recycle, Reuse and Rethink”, the annual contest requires students to create a work of art using materials that otherwise would have been dumped in landfills. Students of all ages participate from all school districts in the Town of North Hempstead.

The Town will honor the local student winners of this year’s Recycled Art Contest at the reception. Projects will be judged based upon criteria’s such as environmental message, use of recycled materials, and creativity.  The reception will take place on Monday, December 12 at 6 p.m. at the North Hempstead  “Yes We Can” Community Center at 141 Garden Street in Westbury.
