Town of North Hempstead Kicks off Small Business Saturday
Town Officials encourage residents to shop locally for the holidays

North Hempstead, NY – North Hempstead Town Supervisor Judi Bosworth and the Town Board joined with the leaders of several of the local chambers of commerce and other community leaders on November 5th in order to kick off the promotion of this year’s Small Business Saturday.

The Town is a proud sponsor of Small Business Saturday which takes place November 29th and is a joint partnership between Women Impacting Public Policy (WIPP) and the Small Business Saturday Coalition. This is a national effort to drive consumers to shop at local independently owned businesses on the Saturday after Thanksgiving.

In 2013, 317 city and town officials joined together to support Small Business Saturday, and this year the Town of North Hempstead will be one of those municipalities.

“It is a priority of mine and of this administration to support our local businesses in any way we can,” Supervisor Bosworth said. “I expect this year’s Small Business Saturday to act as the kickoff to a successful and profitable holiday season for our businesses. I encourage all of our residents to shop locally this season and build our local economy.”

Town officials were joined by community representatives from the chambers of commerce from Mineola, Manhasset, Greater New Hyde Park, the Willistons, Port Washington, and Great Neck.
