Supervisor Bosworth Announces Appointment of Carol Frank to Water Authority of Great Neck North

North Hempstead, NY – North Hempstead Town Supervisor Judi Bosworth is proud to announce the recent appointment of Great Neck resident Carol Frank as a member of the Board of Directors of the Water Authority of Great Neck North. The 11 member board is comprised of representatives from throughout Great Neck.

“Maintaining the quality of our precious water supply is of crucial importance,” Supervisor Bosworth said. “Carol has the experience and background to work with our village officials to ensure that we continue to provide high quality drinking water to the residents of Great Neck.”

Frank worked for 14 years as an investigative reporter and editor for the Great Neck Record,covering a wide range of community topics with a special emphasis on environmental issues, safe drinking water, responsible waste water treatment, land use, and protection of natural resources. Frank holds a Master’s degree in Social Work with a focus on community organization.

“I appreciate the fact that Supervisor Bosworth has given me the opportunity to work with the Town of North Hempstead and the Water Authority of Great Neck North toward our mutual goal of protecting our sole source aquifer,” Frank said. “We are facing many challenges including salt water intrusion, and plumes of pollution from many directions, as well as growing demands for water. I hope to help in the decision making process by gathering information, looking at all sides of the issues, assessing risks and working together to ensure that our water meets the highest standards of safety, affordability and sufficiency to meet our needs..”

The mission of the Water Authority of Great Neck North is to provide its customers a quality of potable water that meets or exceeds all federal, state and local standards.
