Town of North Hempstead Sponsors Additional Fall AARP Driving Courses

North Hempstead, NY – Supervisor Judi Bosworth and the North Hempstead Town Board announced that the Town will be sponsoring additional AARP defensive driving courses to be held during the fall at Clinton G. Martin Park.

“Due to the overwhelming popularity of the classes, we have opened up registration for fall classes to allow residents to take advantage of the opportunity to reduce their insurance costs, cut penalty points, and increase personal driving safety,” said Supervisor Judi Bosworth.

The classes, open to drivers age 50 and older, will be held on June 7, June 28, September 13, October 18, November 8 and December 6 from 9:30AM to 4:30PM.

To register for an AARP defensive driving class, please make your check payable to AARP. The cost is $20 for members and $25 for non-members. Please be sure that your check contains your name, address, phone number, AARP member number and the date of the class you wish to attend. Seating for each class is limited.

Please mail all checks to: Defensive Driving Coordinator, Department of Community Services, 1601 Marcus Ave., New Hyde Park, NY 11040. Once checks are received, a seat will be reserved in your name and a letter confirming your registration will be mailed to your address.
