Town Begins Construction of New Port Washington Parking Lot

Port Washington, NY – North Hempstead Town Supervisor Judi Bosworth and Councilwoman Dina De Giorgio visited the construction site of a new parking lot in Port Washington on June 29. The parking lot, located at 1070 Port Washington Boulevard, was previously the location of the old Shields House. The dilapidated structure was demolished to make way for new public parking for merchants. Construction is currently slated to be completed in September 2015. The new lot will house 27 additional spots for a downtown area that would benefit greatly from additional parking. All permit requests for parking spots must be made through the Port Washington Parking District. For more information, please call 311.
