North Hempstead, NY – Supervisor Judi Bosworth and the North Hempstead Town Board, in conjunction with the Department of Parks and Recreation, will be hosting their second “Vacation Recreation” program of the year for children during April Break. The first program, held during Winter break, welcomed hundreds of children to the Tully Aquatic Activity Center in New Hyde Park for swimming, arts and crafts, movies and more. Due to the success of that program, “Vacation Recreation” will now expand to the “Yes We Can” Community Center in New Cassel.

“This is another wonderful opportunity to provide recreational activities for young families in the Town of North Hempstead,” Supervisor Bosworth said. “I am thrilled to add the ‘Yes We Can’ Community Center to our lineup this time around as we continue to expand our programming town-wide.”

The Tully Park portion of the program will be Tuesday, April 15th and Wednesday, April 16th beginning at 1:00pm and will include arts and crafts, a magic show featuring world class magician Scott Interrante, board games and pool time.

The program is FREE for Tully Aquatic Activity Center members and $7 per day for non-members. For the pool time segment, children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult. The “Yes We Can” Community Center portion will be held on Monday, April 14th and Tuesday, April 15th starting at 1:00pm, and will also include arts and crafts and board games, as well as ping pong and volleyball. Facility members can take part in the program FREE and non-members will be charged $5 per day.
